VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT YOUR YMCA
A vibrant spirit of volunteerism has been at the core of the YMCA’s mission since its founding in 1844, when a group of young men came together to improve living conditions in London during the Industrial Revolution. Today, the Y is the leading volunteer-led charitable organization in the U.S. Across the country, 600,000 individuals volunteer to the Y to give back to their neighbors and advance our cause of strengthening communities.
With busy lives, it can be hard to find time to volunteer. However, the benefits of volunteering are enormous to you, your family, and your community. The right match can help you find friends, reach out to the community, learn new skills, and even advance your career. Volunteering can also help protect your mental and physical health.

GENERAL VOLUNTEERING
YMCA branch volunteers help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Opportunities include greeting members, helping our administrative teams and lending an extra hand where it’s needed.
ANNUAL CAMPAIGN VOLUNTEER
Generosity comes in many forms, and it’s often the best way to support important causes that matter the most in our lives. We are looking for individuals who want to help our Association meet our Annual Campaign goals. 100% of the dollars raised toward the YMCA Annual Campaign goes directly to those in need in our own communities.
MENTOR PROGRAM VOLUNTEER
Do you have an extra 30 minutes per week? Our YMCA Mentors provide extra support to help students achieve their potential by meeting with them while they are at school. We believe everyone, regardless of age, benefits from having positive one-on-one relationships with others. Mentors are a postive influence and catalyst in helping shape the future of our community.
YOUTH PROGRAM VOLUNTEER
Enjoy working with children? So do we. Volunteer in any one of our many youth programs. Help with homework during YMCA After School, teach a creative skill during our Summer Camp programs, read books or lead games.
SPORTS COACHES
Use your talents to encourage, guide and train young athletes at the YMCA by coaching youth sports including soccer, baseball, volleyball and little rookies. For more information click here.
SWIM PROGRAM VOLUNTEERS
YMCA swim programs teach safety, skills and how to enjoy water activities for a lifetime. Volunteers assist with lessons, swim meet timing and other duties.
ADVISORY BOARD VOLUNTEERS
Branch Advisory Boards exist as an integral part of our YMCA leadership team. Advisory board members offer important and unique contributions through their talents, skills, connections and passion for the mission of the YMCA of Easley, Pickens and Powdersville.
